| | For the most accurate sex offender information in New York State visit: The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services This info is provided by: www.parentsformeganslaw.com We did it, we now are 15,000 strong! ALL OF YOU HAVE SHOWN INCREDIBLE SUPPORT. Parents and residents united together for our right to protect ourselves and our children from know predators. We have made a lot of progress in just a few short months. I will let you know all about it in my next Message From The Director on our site parentsformeganslaw.com.
We have little time so I will get straight to the point. I am coming to you because I NEED YOUR HELP, NOT FUNDING….
I need you to make two telephone calls to help move a very important bill to the floor of the New York State Assembly to vote on. You will need to call TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY this week. Otherwise there is a good chance this bill won't become a law.
WE WANT TO REQUIRE THE POLICE TO NOTIFY ON ALL HIGH RISK SEX OFFENDERS IN NY Why-
HIGH RISK SEX OFFENDERS ARE MOVING INTO COMMUNITIES AND SOME POLICE DEPARTMENTS ARE NOT NOTIFYING
Many of you have contacted me because you found out that your police department knew of high risk offenders in your community but you were not notified. THIS BILL WILL STOP THAT FROM HAPPENING EVER AGAIN.
It is very simple, it requires the police to actively release this info to you in the community. Right now the bill (Parents For Megan's Law assisted in drafting) is sitting in Assemblyman Aubrey's (From Queens)committee and he needs our help to get it out.
YOUR MISSION… HERE IS WHAT WE NEED YOU NEED TO DO READ CAREFULLY …
(Just do #1 and #2 for those who are very busy but if you want to help more then do #3 and #4 too!)
(Do not send emails---some of the lawmakers max out at 50)
#1. Call (518) 455-4561 This is Assemblyman Aubry's Office. MAKE SURE THE PERSON WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE WRITES IT DOWN Tell whoever answers that you are calling to show your support of the Megan's Law bill #A7097a. The one that requires the police to notify the community when the highest risk sex offender moves in. Tell them you want this out of committee and passed in the Assembly --- after all it passed in the Senate last week.
#2. Call (518) 455-3791 This is Assembly Speaker Silver's Office MAKE SURE THE PERSON WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE WRITES IT DOWN Tell whoever answers that you are calling to show your support of the Megan's Law bill #A7097a. The one that requires the police to notify the community when the highest risk sex offender moves in. Tell them you want this bill moved out of the Corrections Committee, brought to the floor for a vote and passed in the Assembly --- after all it passed in the Senate last week.
YOU HAVE DONE A LOT ALREADY THE REMAINING IS FOR ONLY THOSE WHO REALLY WANT TO SHOW OUR FORCE!!!
